One post i saw said that it would autoboot without a modchip but im not sure whether there is any truth in this. I downloaded the universal unbricker v2 ISO but dont have any modchip installed so im guessing this wont run due to being on a backup disc. I got a hold of a gamecube controller and modded it to try and access the rescue menu but I cant seem to get this to work - Does the region and sysmenu version number show up in the bottom right corner of the screen for version 4.0 if the rescue menu is accessed? The Wii is only a few months old and well within "warranty" but i have read that nintendo now class it as out of warranty if they can trace any signs of modding. I dont really know what I should do from here. For some reason I now cant get back into preloader by holding reset so it seems that im totally snookered. I had managed to get into preloader and reinstall sys menu 4.0 which worked and i was able to restore the Wii, however after i switched my Wii off and switched it back on, all i get now is a black screen and I can hear the disc drive. ![]() ![]() I was stupid enough to install IOS60 after preloader - I didnt read a guide fully enough. I have a black screen when I switch my Wii on so im assuming its bricked.
